When spring comes, I usually fight it like a grump groundhog that wants to be left alone by the noisy participants outside of their humble log. The changing of the clock doesn’t help either, but as I fight the affects of the lost hour of sleep, and pour myself another coffee, I know that change is vital for survival. And as a business owner and author, I must do what I can to prolong the future of my work.
So with the changes that are affecting our world, I have been making some changes of my own, especially with the recent boycotts to Amazon.
I have added all of my books to Draft2Digital. This means that my ebooks can be found on sites like Smashwords, Hoopla, Apple Books, Fable, Place Marketplace, Tolino, Vivlio, Bookshop.org, and more. I am working on adding paperback versions to Draft2Digital as well, so that Amazon isn’t the only printer for my books.
Right now only my Fallen Angel series is available in paperback. The printing through D2D is slightly different compared to Amazon, so I decided to make mass market versions of my books. They will have different covers and will be slightly shorter, but with the same content and art. These you can request to be carried in your favorite bookshop. This is a great option, since most bookstores will not buy from Amazon. I will be adding the rest of my books in paperback soon. Please note that all of my books are still on Amazon and will stay there for the time being. Having a second place to print my books is a security in case something ever happens to Amazon.
Social Media
As far as social media goes, if anything happens to TikTok or any other platform, you can find me primarily on Bluesky and Instagram. Check out my other socials, too.
Announcements
Son of Tenshi, the third and finale book of my Fallen Angel series is going to be made into an audiobook! George is back and ready to go. He just loves playing the voice of Tenshi so much, and honestly, I can’t blame him. I love what he has brought to that character. Tenshi feels a live when I hear George’s performance. We don’t have a release date yet, but most likely this summer.
As far as audiobook sales locations go, my books will stay on Amazon, Audible, and iTunes. This is mainly because I do a 50/50 split with my narrators for royalties. As much as I would love to go wide with my audiobooks, I will not make that move until my audiobooks have earned enough to pay my narrators for their work. So please support them and buy my audiobooks.
Special Offers
Speaking of supporting authors, check out this months specials for MM Romance books and LGBTQIA+ Romance Books.
Also a big thank you for everyone who took advantage of this past weeks Read An Ebook event through Smashwords. I had 196 downloads of my books.
Writing Update
My newest book called, I Was A Stranger, is slowly making headway. After much struggle in getting it off the ground, I have decided to go in a different direction for the telling of the story. It will now be in a diary format. So far the change is making the story and the flow feel more natural as I put it all together. Hopefully next month I will have tripled my word count. You can read more about the inspiration for this project in November’s Substack.
