Found Family
As the birthday (at least in my house) and holiday season approaches, I’ve been thinking about family. Each year I do the NDK convention and it always feels like home. It feels like the family I wish I had. The staff is always excited to see me when I check in for set up day, and they are usually my first customers when the VIP sale starts. You, my fans, have been a blessing, whether you are from the area or from across the country. As a small indie author, each sale, hand shake, review, comment, and newsletter recipient makes my heart happy. Thank you for letting my books be a part of your life. There is a reason why my books have “found family” as a common trope, and I am thankful I have found you all.
I don’t know what the future holds, but I hope to be back at NDK again in the coming years. I also have plans for more books. One of them being based on a true story.
It is about a Dutch family that served as missionaries in Japan and left just before WWII, only to find themselves in a war of their own between their new country and the church as they try to help people who have more citizen rights than they do.
The man pictured is Gotthard “Far” Bach. He began to write a book called “I Was A Stranger.” I have his unfinished manuscript and letters. His son wrote a letter before he died expressing that his family’s story be told and that is what I will do. His writings have a timeless message to them and I have found some comfort in them during this November. I shared a bit about them on my TikTok account. I have been collecting more information for the past year and now it is time to write it.
Speaking of birthdays
My birthday sale is still going on. I have put my ebook bundles on sale for 41% off of their original price. The discount is already applied, so if you want to treat yourself on my birthday, you can go to my Gumroad shop and get the ebook bundles for less than $5 a piece for a limited time. Sale for the ebook bundles ends November 15th.
Christmas Shopping
A reminder that the USPS suggests getting cards and packages mailed out by December 18th in time for Christmas. I suggest even earlier with media mail shipments. Free shipping with coupon code is available.
All of my paperbacks are already marked down for the holiday season at 30% off. Again, this only counts for my paperbacks. They are on sale through my shop FeatherandFlowserbooks.com. Get them while I have stock. Gift cards are available.
International Fans
And just a reminder for my international followers. My books are on Kobo and are often included in their deals and specials. So make sure to check them out.
